What!? A golf cart as a farm vehicle? You must think I lost my mind. Well, I am here to tell you that this golf cart has been the best thing we have ever gotten here on the farm. It has hauled all kinds of materials, pulled down old buildings and is great for moving 4-5 bales of hay.
We started looking into different types of motorized vehicles to use on the farm the year before last. We finally decided on a golf cart because after reading up on them and asking around, this was the best bang for our buck. We bought it used, this one is a 2001 model. We use this thing everyday and at least 4-5 times a day. It runs on electricity so no gas or oil to mess with.
The back seat folds down as a platform so we can haul feed or hay with no problem. The kids can drive it and it is safe for them because it doesn’t go really fast. We’ve hauled chickens in a dog crate on this thing. When we need to hook up a sprayer, it hooks right up to the batteries and runs off of the power of the golf cart. If you are looking for an easy vehicle, get one. You won’t be sorry. Did I mention it hauls 4-5 bales of hay at a time?
